"Weekends are a bit like rainbows; they look good from a distance but disappear when you get up close to them." ~John Shirley

Normally our weekends are nice and quiet. Nothing planned. Grocery shopping, finding new parks to play at, playing games, taking naps, stuff like that. However, it seems that one weekend a month ends up a bit busy. This weekend was that weekend.

a list on our weekend:
  • lost my voice
  • breakfast club, a high light of the month
  • hung up a 'headboard' for our bed, finally
  • finished cleaning our closet, again
  • mailed packages that were piling up
  • found out other friends from book club have not been reading les mis, i am not alone! (well, i didn't even try to start, but whatever)
  • got a really cute sweater from a friend
  • went to the Houston screening of Handmade Nation, thanks Nancy!!!!
  • rearranged some cabinets
  • have enough t-shirts to start my project, not quite enough to finish yet
  • keep girls home from activities and church and such as they have a cold, which i guess i'm now getting??
  • dropped off stuff at salvation army
  • missed both trains when dropping stuff off at salvation army
  • enjoyed the galleries at the Center for Contemporary Craft
  • went contra dancing with some very interesting people
  • had a funny conversation about my new hand-me-down sweater, friend: "hey, did i give you that sweater?" me: "um... did you give it to so-and-so first?" friend: "yup!" hahaha, good times, maybe we need a more regular cloths swap
  • cleaned up a lot
  • really enjoyed antidote, hadn't been there in a long time (coffee shop)
  • got a slight cough this morning, and voice is even worse, bummer
  • went through my friend's pantry that was emptied into my trunk as she's moving back over seas, anyone need a pantry full of spices?
  • hung a bunch of 3M hooks, gotcha love them, especially when renting
  • jd working on his new x-men game
  • trying a few of the more interesting things from my friend's pantry, with no english on them, we have yet to try the glogg
  • swapping out ellie's cloths for the next size up, she's growing
  • and a quiet Sunday evening as jd's driving youth group guys around
and that was a slice of our weekend, hope your's was great

Whew! Sounds like a full weekend!

(If we lived much closer, I could take those spices off your hands.)

Breakfast Club? I forgot about that? I think it may be time for me to throw another brunch:-).
