More and more rain. But after such serious drought in Texas this summer, it is a nice break from the hot sun - and the ground needs it I'm sure. Although today is extremely humid. I only managed to miss the rain completely once today, while walking to and from the dentist. It even down poured while I was there. Later, after lunch, we went walking to the car, and I decided to quickly turn back and get my sling and umbrella - just in case. With in moments of locking the door, the rain started pounding! So much for staying super dry. And within 5 minutes it stopped. We park at the grocery store and had I taken not even 5 steps and the rain lets loose on us! So we run, again. Fortunately it let up for us to put groceries in to the car to deliver them to a friend who just had twins. However, when leaving her house, we stepped out of the door, and the rain started yet again. The same happened on the walk into the apartment... so I took the opportunity of walking through the apartment buildings and past the leasing office - stayed dry and picked up a little chocolate they had sitting out for Halloween... I enjoyed the Reese's peanut butter cup. It's a good thing there is currently no chocolate in the house.
Well, the real reason for this post is to share with you the new countdown!! We finished making it last night. I was wanted to do something a bit different than the paper chains and a little festive for the holidays coming up - so I think it turned out well. I really like it! I'm not sure if you can notice, but there are two countdown numbers, one for when we see my side of the family, and the other for JD's side. We are so super excited!!! I truly enjoy looking forward to going home, and the daily visual countdown.

So that's what it looks like. I thought it would be rings again. Even though we don't have a countdown display, we are, in fact, counting that days.
