I love that quote, and can think about it much as we get to know more friends in Houston. as they most likely see the ridiculous side of JD and I as we are still new to the area. and JD gets to see my ridiculousness daily with all the messes and projects and such...
So we've been having fun doing all sort of things. Thanksgiving was great all though almost two weeks ago, I feel like I can talk about it since the flowers from it are still hanging on! We had a total of 7 people around our table and it was lovely! We roasted a turkey - note, it was the smallest turkey we could find - 8.5 pounds! But it was fun and it turned out lovely and such. We enjoyed eating much and then some of the guys dove into a 'short' RISK game... yup that that 'short' game only lasted a few hours. I forgot to take pictures, but no surprise there... I hope to someday remember we have a camera during events. We also been having a lot of fun working on a Habitat for Humanity house! JD's really enjoyed being outside working and I like doing the jobs that are on the ground level... it's been fun! There will hopefully be pictures through Habitat of the house we built, so I'll see if I can post them!
Other events have been low key and fun! The avocado tree needs to go into dirt asap!!!! and I'm learning to force paperwhite bulbs in water and have been amazed at the root growth! This weekend we're at our friend's lavender farm, so I'll try very hard to remember my camera... Also, a dear and lovely friend here in Texas has been baking away - She has made over 30 chocolate flourless cakes for our church's women's Christmas dinner! That's a lot of chocolate! The event is tonight and I've been attempting to help her out, so our fridge is filled to the brim.. all but one shelf, with thawing cakes and the garnish - which smells divine - is still drying in my less than tidy kitchen.
But it's been quite fun! It's rosemary twigs dipped in egg whites and run through sugar. All though it is a long a sticky job, it looks great! And it reminded me and my MN friend of snow, so the work was continued! Needless to say fun stuff is happening, even if it is sticky...

okay, so after the fourth attempt to take this picture and it still being blurry, it grew on me! and it also reminded my of Christmas and winter!!!!!!! (and anything that reminds me of winter I enjoy, as it is quite warm out)
So besides all that, my weaving is quite close to being woven... um, yea. It's on my loom and needs to be tied on and then it good. But with stuff happening and my shoulder being a bit sore from putting up siding at the Habitat house, I'm going to wait until tomorrow. and that's that.

Yay! I'm glad to find out you have a blog, too! I love finding out about your projects. I am trying to get crafty on a much smaller scale- I'm making fudge, truffles, and taking a crack at making a wedding scrapbook (yup, still at it!) and learning to knit.
You're so talented, and I'm excited to get a little peek into you life via the internet:).
