"All work, even cotton [or wool] spinning, is noble; work alone is noble" ~Thomas Carlyle

I finally did it! JD help me ply my first bit of yarn! What exactly I'll do with it I'm not yet sure... but that's okay! I'm just glad that we figured it out! Again, I'm sorry the picture is not great. I have another spool of singles ready too. There's been much time to get things done, which of course don't mean that they all get done.

It's been raining and storming tremendously lately, and is supposed to until Wednesday. It's okay if there's rain, just not on the 2 days that I have to drive on the scary highway. Mind you, it's really only scary if it rains... because it floods! I drove through a LOT of water last week and was freaking out in the car. I had to wait to get off the highway because the water was forcing the four lanes of traffic into one, to drive through somewhat shallow water. I managed to get off the highway to find the pelleting rain was also plaguing the neighborhood I just exited into. I found a street I knew and prayed the entire way home. Parts of town got over 4 inches of rain that afternoon.

So other than spinning wool and watching the rain pelt the sodden ground, work and life here at home is great! My plants are growing, the car passed inspection, and I made some good tasting dinner last night. We then spent the evening making paper cranes. Okay, well I made origami cranes for the mobile I'm trying to make and JD spent TWO (yes 2) hours trying to fold a dinosaur dude. He wanted no help. However after watching him for 90 minutes I decided to try and finished in less then 20 minutes. He still wanted to figure it out himself. I later found out that he's NEVER done any origami before, why he choose the hardest one I don't know. But I'll leave you with a quick shot of the out come, and yes the pink one is JD's! enjoy and count your blessings!

And he's ready to make some more...
