It's finished

Yes, I finished my Mom's Christmas present in 5 days! I made her a pink table runner, she's been asking for one since I started weaving. I also decided to do a new weave pattern with grouped warps. This was a bit scary as I wasn't sure whether or not I'd like it. Fortunately, it turned out quite nicely. The hem stitch also added a lot as it lends it's self so well to a fringe. Sorry about the picture quality, I really need help learning how to take a good picture.

The best part of this was that my other half has learned how cool it is to cut a weaving off of a loom! So last night he's making all these noises while cutting, this is his second time cutting a project off. I think it will be added to his duties, including winding bobbins (he's REALLY good at it!). He also cut the fringe. Leave it to an engineer...

So after we finish cutting the fringe, he asks, so are you going to start something tomorrow? We leave in 3 days! See you all soon, I can't wait! And don't worry my Mom has no idea (yet anyway) that I have this blog, so the surprise isn't ruined.

Oh, and if you're wondering I finished the book last night too.

So pretty! Yes, my other helps me warp the loom too, as do my children. One project this semester, I had peanut sitting on the treadles to hold up all four shafts so I could slide a cartoon under the warp and paint it. It was quite comical. She just wasnt strong enough to stand on the treadles. Cant wait to see you!
