yes, so last week, my head was very clogged up. I think it must happen every February. Regardless, on Sunday of last week, my dear husband lets me know he tried to get me out of bed three times and than gave up and figured I needed the sleep. Well, I did need the sleep but it went clear through both church services.
We attend a small group and have discussion on a set of questions that focus on the sermon that Sunday and JD was asked to guide a question this week, but we had missed hearing it. I go to our church website and was getting the recording of our Sunday school class that we also missed (the membership/intro to the church class) and remembered that they 'podcast' the sermons. I'm wasn't quite sure what this pod casting thing was so I decided to check it out. It worked really well and is completely free. One gets the sermon and can listen to it as many times as one desires and the order of worship also comes with it in some PDF file. It was really great to figure out, especially as our pastor is teaching this incredible series on Numbers. So we listened to it and the sound quality was excellent.
This is when I start to wonder! This is when I look around and think 'who has known about this and has failed to pass it on?' Why not share good things? So this is what I'm doing, sharing with you my newest fun find!! With the podcast you can now get the song of the day from local and worldwide radio stations. You can listen to classes and learn how to do you taxes. But there are two that have really stood out to me, and I want to share them:
1) "Coffee Break Spanish" and "Daily Phrase Italian"
These are podcast which teach you languages, there are about 6 or 7 major languages, through 15 minutes lessons every few days. Some even include worksheets that you can open and print off to work on while listening! The greatest part is the Scottish dude who is teaching them!!! I love it!
2) "Garrison Keillor's Prairie Home Companion's News from Lake Wobegon"
This is actually the #1 podcast right now on itunes! How cool is that! One new monologue is released every week, just like on the radio. I have really enjoyed it! I've been listening to these while painting. I'm not used to radio down here, so this is easier and you can listen to them as many times as you wish.
Well, if that wasn't a commercial for the podcast, I'm not sure what is... but I have been thoroughly enjoying it and now my only dilemma is to figure out if I want to subscribe to the Spanish or Italian lessons?
